99 4.8 fuel pump and sending unit replacement

while i mentioned a fuel pump in my last post i remembered i got a quote for my sending unit to be replaced because of the flaky gas gauge for $250 i sorta forgot exactly if this was for the pump and sending unit.are they separate assemblies or do they come together?i thought the price was good from a dealer

Sounds like only the sender. The sender and the pump come out of the tank as a unit but I think they can separate them when removed. A while back I had a '98 S-10 pickup and the fuel tank got ruptured because some Jack-A** left a folding chair on the freeway. It was on a curve and it was unsafe to swerve around it and it flipped up and perforated my gas tank. The dealer replace the whole "fuel tank assembly" meaning everything for $850.00. $250.00 is probably just the sender.

volfan,That is going to be for both the pump and sender,you can't get them separate from GM,and yes thats a great price for it.
