what a price drop in worth 04-05

Sounds about right. It's the ongoing rebate thing that is killing everyone resale.

Some dealers around here were taking $8000 off of 2004 Suburbans. One dealer had $12000 off 2004 Denali XL's. Then you add the typical $2000 on average loss of value every year.

I bought my full-boat (except Navigation) 04 Yukon XL new in November for $36k, if that helps calibrate you.

You might check some other posts, but the '05's have some changes I don't like. Primarily the rear end ratios. 3.73's are not available on standard (non-Denali) SUV's...only 3.42's and 4.10's. Uggh.

I thought I would give you a price update since I just bought an 2005 Yukon XL Denali:

2005 Yukon XL Denali: MSRP 54,275 - $11,000 off MSRP = $43,275

But, on the otherhand I got slaughtered on trading in my wifes

2004 Saab 9-3.

I paid $29k for an '04 Z-71 Suburban with DVD and roof with 8500 miles on the clock. It was less than a year old at the time. The sticker in the glove box was just under $50k.

Good Luck!
