u know that commercial where the car is parked alone in a parking lot and a POS car pulls up and dings the door.....well i just got my door ding removed on my new truck on thurs.....today i shine her all up and WOW does it look sweet....i go to the store and i park beside another z71....the truck was taking up 1.5 spots...so i pull beside and now there is 4 feet between us...i figure the whole lot is empty so who would pull into that spot...i came out and some gal pulls her POS car ino the 1/2 space....i walk out and look at her like WTF....she had to wait for me to move my truck so she could get outta her car because her mirror was 4 inches from my door ....thank goodness i came out before she tried to open her door because i woulda had a new ding on the same spot where the other one was removed

i wish people would be considerate

sorry for the ran

I hear ya. I did not even have the burb for two days before some fool put a base ball size dent in the lower rear quarter. I assume they hit it backing out. Whatever, the took off, no note, no nothing, other than a nice little dent I get to look at until I get it fixed.

I feel you! Unfortunately there are people in this world that don't care about you or your stuff. Especially those who aren't truck enthusiasts like us. And those that decide they would rather steal your stuff than work for it themselves. That's why I park wayyyyyyyyy in the back of the parking lot when possible. I figure a little walking is good for you.

Wouldn't the world be a really cool place if people would respect each other a little more? :withstupid:

They'll get ya even way back in the parking lot. Your odds are better, but you're not immune. Like you say, the best part of parking far off is getting the exercise walking to and from.

Someone would make a million $$'s is they invented a system that automatically deploys CONCERTINA WIRE around the truck when it's left. My improvement would be to electrify the wire -- ZAP!

My dad and I were just talking about the same thing the other day, man it burns me up. Seems like even if I park a mile away some tool in a POS decides the best spot is right next to me...grrrr

i work with this guy who has a 94 vette. he treasures this car and hardly drives it. it is always stored in his heated garage. when he and his wife went out to eat one night, they parked at the back of the empty parking lot. when he came outside, the parking lot was still rather empty. however, out of mean-ness, somebody had parked so close to him where he could hardly get into the vette. so he struggled getting into his car without swapping paint. after he got in, he backed it out of the park..then he got out..and what did he do next? yep, he went to kicking the car that had parked so close beside him...needless to say, i think those folks learned their lesson

You cant avoid those morons no matter where you park. They will find you! I remember back in'86, bought my first brand new truck. We were living in an apartment and I just got home from work and was sitting in the cab checking things out. This dirt bag chick pulls in next to me, goes around to her passenger side, swings the door open, smash! right into my 2 day old ride! I get out and say something like "what the hell is wrong with you? you just dented my truck!" She looks at it and says "get some touch up paint". I said give me your insurance card NOW. It got fixed, but I'll never forget that morons attitude!
