Power Windows

Ok here's the deal, I have a 2000 GMC Sierra and have some serious power window issues. They no longer operate. I can hear the motors accept power when the switch is pushed. I know the passenger window cable snapped and am pretty sure the driver did the same thing. My question is, is it difficult to replace just the cable only? I really don't want to spend the $$$ to replace the regulator assembly ($250 or so thru the dealer) on a truck that has 127K miles.

I don't believe replacing just the cable is an option. I suppose if you are REAL handy, you might be able to do this with some fabrication.

I just replaced the passenger side on mine. I got a slightly used regulator assembly from an '04 for $42.00 on Ebay. There are good quality aftermarket ones for $100.00 new.
