CRUISE CONTROL

Alright guys I was on my way down here to my buddies in N.C. to go to the NASCAR race in Bristol and going through Summersville,WV. (Speedtrap capitol of the world!) I decided to set my cruise at the speed limit (You don't EVER want to speed goin' through Summersville,EVER! ) And I noticed going down hill the thing really jerked me back quite a bit to keep the set speed,I know these trucks really downshift quite agressive to keep speed going up a grade but I never noticed the jerking back before to keep the speed down.

Anyone else have this problem or noticed it before?

I have read about this before on here. Seems to be another "normal" condition no one likes. Try a search

My 03 did it and my 04 does it going down hills.

i have an 03 silverado single cab and it just lets me speed down hills, it NEVER downshift to hold a speed. now you've got me thinking i have a problem. . .

Same here, I have a 99 NBS Sierra, and mine never downshifts or anything, it just coasts down the hills at whatever speed it reaches. Now I am also curious!

Im with the first guy my 04 burb always jerked me down a hill in CControl. posted a site a while back and EVERYONE said theres did the same.

 

dont worry about it its nornal (i dont like it myself)

It could be the torque converter locking and unlocking to control the speed. Try it with a manual trans. That's worse. My last truck was a '98 S-10 with the 4.3L and a manual trans. It bucked like crazy down a hill in cruise.
