What is the warranty cover under corrison control. The reason I am asking is that from frame is rusting. Can anyone tell me what to do about it, does warranty cover it, or do I have to fix it my self.

Thanks

I believe it covers perferation and damage, not surface rust and scale, For about 20 years on my plow trucks I have sprayed the frames and under sides of truck with a paint spray gun and used 85w140 gear oil in the fall before season start and in spring afterwards and it real seem to eat the rust and protect it too because I have frames that are 25 years old that have very little rust and no real loss of metal and can still get my chassis bolts out if need be. A little extreme for some but it does work.

6 year 100,000 mile rust through on the body sheet metal only.

What I have done is to pressure wash the frame to remove all the dirt, and scale, then I will use Rust-Oleum "Hard Hat" spray paint on the frame rails. This takes care of the frame, and lasts a long time too.

I have never had any trouble with my truck's body. My '89 Silverado was 12 years old before rust started bubbling up in the cab corners. 12 years seems acceptable to me. Unless you really get into alot of salt, the factory galvanized finish works pretty well.

My wife's '97 Blazer gets washed out every time it gets into the salt. -Even if it is 20 degrees outside. So far it shows no signs of rust.

If the air blows in your face you might have a case. I have my vehicles undercoated which slows the onset of rust. There is no fix except to move south. The frames rust rather quickly, if not treated. Just go into the used lot at your dealer and peek under any GM truck and you know what I mean.. that wax dipping of theirs is as effective as a fart in strong side wind. If you do decide to treat it, do not forget those cross member tubes.

P.S. Make sure to instruct whoever steam cleans your engine to not clean the frame from above. That is one sure way of pealing all protection off of it.

You can't use it on the frame because it will take off the factory wax coating (Which isn't worth s*@t!) But for everything else underneath I use WD-40,spray it on and let it soak for a couple hours then wipe off the excess, been working for me for 15 years.

You must go through a lot of WD 40. I use gear oil in a spray gun twice a year on my plow truck and forget it and wipe nothing and it has a lot of staying power and does not wash off easily in cold weather either.
