MAF Replacement

Has anyone tried one of the Granatelli Mass Air Flow Sensors like this one:

Though I'm always skeptical of their HP gain claims, I know that this is a big topic among Ford owners (being one previously) and is usually one of their first upgrades.

 

In my previous car, the combination of a Mass Air Flow and a K&N Air Cold Air Kit really made a big SOTP improvement, not to mention a nice sound that reminded of the days when we used to flip our air cleaners over to hear the sound of the 4-barrel carbs opening up.

I did the Granatelli and didn't feel a thing different. I didn't do the K&N but did go with the AMSOIL foam air cleaner in the stock air box. Unless your planning on several other mods and a PCM mod I wouldn't recommend it.

Dont waste your money. Spend it on something else!! Keep the stocker!

How about cutting out the screen in the airbox??? Have you heard anyone doing this?

Leave the screen in the MAF too. Dont take it out!
