Did you see they even have a crewcab version called the Crewman and yes you can get the 350 engine in it.

Man, all the other countries get all the cool cars.

they have been making those under the Holden badge for a few years now. There was always constant talk about bringing them to the US, but the only Holden that has made it out here is the GTO which is carrying the Pontiac badge.

The GTO has not met their expected sales figures so there is very little chance the Ute will ever make it across the sea.

On the one hand I appreciate the post and info...on the other, I wish I had not seen it because they don't sell them here.

My 1981 El Camino SS is still my favorite vehicle of all time...it had a V-8, rode and handled like a car, but was not afraid of a load in the bed. Why GM let it die is beyond me...but then again, so is the Camaro...what are these guys thinkin???

The 2004 GTO didn't make their expected sales figures. They don't have the supply to met the demand of the 2005 GTO though.

They have also been making the Chevy Tornado In Mexico for about 10 years. It's kind of El Camino, only a little smaller.

The mighty 1.8 liter 100 hp 4-banger they put in the Tornado does not inspire much confidence....and I thought the old S-10 was slow.....

They probably don't have to meet the kind of federal guidelines the manufacturer's here in the States have to meet.

Besides, GM has something that looks kinda similar in the SSR. No one wants it. We can't hardly give 'em away. $40k is just way too much.

At $25K the SSR would sell like hotcakes (I don't know if hotcakes are a high volume item, but the saying works) Even the last generation Z28's weren't even $40K and a hell of a lot more engineering went into those cars. The SSR's do look cool, but it would have to be a 3rd vehicle since it's only a 2 seater, definitely not a family car.
