Tommorow I am gutting the inside of my truck, putting in new speaker wire and just doing a general cleanout of my entire interior. The only thing that I cant really figure out is how to run the RCA cables from the back of my amp and down to the floor. What part of the dash do I need to take off to run this thing? Right now my head unit is sticking halfway out of the dash lol.

Ok, I'll take a wild guess. I'd say you probably have a 2002 GMC Z71 4x4 Extended cab, 5.3L short box, black. For that particular truck--a true classic--here's how I'd run the wires.

If you're going to put an amp in back, by the subwoofers, you're probably gonna want to run power for the amp on the driver's side, under the door sill trim. And you're gonna want to run audio, RCA and/or speaker wires, on the passenger side, under the door sill trim.

From the radio pocket in the dash, you will find it difficult but possible to fish a wire from the radio pocket at the back of the radio space, to the right, behind the a/c ductwork, and over to the right where it will be visible behind the glovebox once you've released the glovebox door and let it hang down toward the floor.

From there you'll put a few cable ties to hold it up above the glove box space, inside the dash and above the glove box, all the way to the right edge of the inside of the dash, and you'll descend toward the door sill area inside the passenger kick panel (just forward of the door).

You can probably get away without removing the passenger kick panel, just tuck the wire in all along the floor all the way up to the firewall, and then pull it back behind the kick panel so that:

a) it exits at the top at the base of the glovebox door, and

b) it exits from the bottom in a way that guides it into the wire raceways that are exposed once you've unsnapped and removed the door sill trim.

Then just feed the wire into the exposed raceways and out at the back seat area after you get past the end of the door sill and for a few inches run under the kick panel behind the back door, and then finally out into permanent view, under the back seat, where the dual 10" JL Audio downfiring subwoofers and 500W RMS power amplifier is located.

So what kind of truck do you have, anyway? (The above instructions would probably work for any full size GM truck since 1990.)
