What gearing in rear end?

On my 89 Sierra 4x4 with a 350 I have a 6" superlift and 33's. On the freeway when The truck shifts into overdrive it seems to bog down alot and I will have to give it more gas then it shifts out of overdirve. What gearing would I need to make it like stock gearing or lower?

What gears do you have right now?  3.73's?  If so you may want to go to 4.10's or even 4.56's if you are ever planning on going bigger.

are you planning on going w/ bigger tires eventually or are you satisfied w/ 33's.  I'm guessing right now you could stuff some 35's under there w/ no problems.

You most likele have 3.42 or 3.73 gears from the factory.

 

Try and see if there is an option for gears around the 4.30 range for your truck and if not,4.56 would be the way to go,IMO.

You can tell what gears you have by looking in your glovebox.

 

Look for a code, they are:

 

GT5-4.10

GT4-3.73

GU6-3.42

GU5-3.23

Thanks for the replies. Im probaby gonna go with 4.56 cause im going to get 35's after my 33's wear out. Where would be a good place to order from online?

I guess 4wheelparts.com would be a place to go.  There are some more places, but you'll have to find what you want and just shop around.  You've got time.  If you get the gears and tires from the same place I be they'll cut you a deal.
