should I replace fuel pump?

My fuel gauge doesn't work properly as it usually will stay on the full mark. I'm thinking it might be the fuel sending unit and I'm wondering if I should replace the fuel pump as long as I have the fuel tank down and everything opened up?

What year and model do you have, also how many miles?

some sending units and pumps only come as a 1 piece unit.

I have a 1997 Z71 with 99,000 miles. Yes, you are correct that it might come only as 1 piece. I haven't had the time to check if this is the case, but what if they don't come as 1 piece? Should I replace the fuel pump also?
