Factory Security Question

I got a 02 Sierra and im just wondering what happens when i replace the "deck" the main stereo. Whats the deal with the security?

Won't make any difference. I replaced the sound system in my '02 GMC Z71 when it was new, never had any problem. The factory security system continued to work exactly as it originally did, even after replacing the GM radio with a Pioneer.
