The search for a 8.1 disscussion group is what led me to this forum in the first place. It's not like there are that many 8.1's on the road but rather a higher percentage of 8.1 owners are into performance than other sizes or types so we needed a place to talk. This turned out to be the spot. If you look on the other Truck sites there are very few if any 8.1 posts. Take diesels for instance, there are several sites just for them. With the performance levels attainable by diesel tuning nowadays the 8.1 is still a rare bird. You have to have the right set of circumstances to be better off with the big block gasser, for me it was by far the best choice. It doesn't hurt that this is a first class site on it's own merit but the high level of 8.1 traffic is why I'm here.

I looked for 8.1's around here over the weekend. Nothing all the dealerships have are 6.0 and VERY few Duramax.
