Houston, We have a problem

I went to the dealer today to get the lux amp recalabrated to a sierra denali. I have a 03 silverado lt z-71. Well, i had sound before but it didnt sound right (like in a barrel) and the bottom end of the volume was on or off, no gradual down to off, but on or off. It sure wasnt better than what I had and after refering to a few people, i decided to get it recalibrated to a sierra denali. Anyways, now I dont have any sound except the beep of the nav unit and the door chimes. I followed the procedures found on the board. Any ideas from the Gurus?

Any help appreciated.

Occassionally, programming an AMP that doesn't need it will damage the AMP. Unfortunately, this is a permanent problem. Not saying this is what happened to you, but it sure sounds like it. Of course, it could just be that the tech missed a step, or something to that effect. I'd have him check it again.

Sorry,I haven't been on much this past few days. I've been working OT.

You stated you started with a brand new amp. If that is true then it definitely would have needed to be programmed and the Sierra Denali would have been the best choice for your truck. It is possible that the tech did not do the procedure correct or the amp is just a bad one, it is also possible that he changed the programming on the HU my mistake. I would have them connect the programmer and check everything out. If possible swap the amp into a vehicle that has the same type and see if there is "no sound" then. I don't think that the amp would have been damage by you using it before the programming was done, the programming is only there to taylor the sound for the vehicle configuration it is in.

I have never done one of these upgrades with a brand new amp, all the ones I messed with where used ones that where already where programmed and we left them alone at that.

I will check the service manuals and see if I can find out anything else on this problem.

I found an amp from a sierra denali with the part number on the "approved list" (LOL) and i just went on and bought it. It was from a wreck, my thinking is that it should be setup properly already (I HOPE).

Is my other amp useless dead, or would it work for someone else? in other words, could i sell it or is it trash?

Thanks for your help.
