Overhead console

Hi,

Have a 2002 Silverado Reg Cab, I am searching for an overhead console with map lights.  Where can I find one, other than the dealer?  And would it take much to put it in?

Are you looking for a short console, or the long one?  I don't know for sure if the long one would fit perfectly in the regular cabs, but like all things, you may be able to make it fit.  

 

If your's doesn't have a console at all, you most like will have to do a little cutting on the headliner.  I know my extended cab has a pretty good size hole near the middle, under the long overhead console.

Ok I checked out ebay and found some. I want to put one in on my Avalanche. My question is the ones on ebay say for 88-98. Is there a difference between the older ones and the newer trucks. If anyone has any pictures please post up.

Heres a pic of the front.  It has 2 map lights then after that there is a compartment for a garage door opener, then a compartment for sunglasses then i belive a compartment for anything its like 4"x4"?

Does it look like this one. This one says it's for 96-98. Are these still the same other ones above.

the one you posted is the one in the new body styles.

 

Did the pre 99 trucks even have an overhead console?

From what I can tell, it looks just like mine (other than the color).  I don't know for sure if the contour of the roofs are the same on the old body style and the new body style though.  That would be my only concern.  I'm sure someone else here will be able to answer that.

                Yea that is the same one that is in my 98 silverado ,and I think that is the one the Impala guys like to but in there cars! steve

the 88-98 ones are the same for the new body style trucks.  You can usually get them on ebay for around 80 bucks or so.  If you don't want to bid you can get them off of this site www.lwm.cc they sell them on there site for around 90 bucks.
