Oil Life System

I just purchased a 2004 Tahoe LS 4WD, and am interested in knowing / verifying if I have the oil system monitoring for sure.

 

This seems like a great idea, but since I don't have the DIC controls on the steering wheel, do I have the oil life system ?

 

Anyone know for sure, how can I check ?

I believe it is standard on all vehicles. I don't have DIC (stop it!!) but I have the oil monitoring system.

 

Try this, turn the key to on and stomp the gas pedal three times all the way to the floor. You should see a message in the cluster display that says oil system rest.

You have it. Standard. If you reset it, you need to either change the oil upon reset, or once 3000 miles are on the oil in the vehicle, otherwise you run the risk of running past what it would normally recommend. Reset procedure is in previous post.
