Trip #7 to dealer for Onstar repair and paint run

Once again the dealership is giving me the screws. They fixed the Onstar and was suppose to fix the paint runs in the tailgate. They said they were going to just wheel out the runs.

I had an emergency come up so I was in a huge hurry to get the truck and high tail it out of there.

I get there, as I walk up to my truck I see all this rubbing compound slung all over the tailgate, bumper and side of my truck, power everywhere, I could have screamed :bs: I figured screw the lazy $%#$ for not washing it, didn't have time to yell. Jumped in the truck, went to turn on my a/c and it was already on...........it wasn't blowing.............what the @#$? It worked fine when I brought it in.............. :chevy::devil::fume: I did go in and yell then about the a/c, said they'd get the tech that worked on it..............told them I didn't have time and left.

It wasn't until after I got home and took a look at all the @#$@#$ on the back of my tailgate when I noticed a nice huge burn mark in the paint.....about the size of an orange.................and they still didn't get the run out :sigh::devil::fume:

I called my salesman, chewed him out for the lousy people and asked him why they treat me like @#$@#....I took it back in Tuesday for all to see........(trip #8)After all the excuses, I went to the bodyshop and now have an appt. to take it in Tuesday to have the tailgate painted and the a/c fixed.(trip # 9) July 1 I will have the truck 8 months.............. :fume:

Not one of them had the ba#$% to say sorry for screwing your truck up or for having to make another trip. I am so annnnnggggrrrrryyyyyy, guys I can't handle this anymore, after what they put me through on the 02 I can't keep dealing with this.

Why are they doing this????(sorry for all the whining)

#1 sales men dont know how to be straight forward and honest. They always feel they need to give you a line of BS... its instinct.

#2 dealers dont always hire the best people, alot are high school grads that are rushed to GM tech training and more or less are parts changers in the end. Trained monkeys.

Keep in mind, Im generalizing, not all people fit this description... but alot do.

If sales men or other management figures at a dealership would just state the problem, tell you how they want to fix it, ask you if thats acceptable, and execute the repair as needed alot of headaches would be avoided. Instead, they hesitate to explain the problem, wont commit to anything, and oftenly dont want to fix the issue the way you feel it should be. Oh, and forget about getting the problem documented... you nearly have to tear any detailed-documented information about your problem out of their cold dead hands.

as for the techs or body shop personell.... you need mechs with experience... i dont care how many "certificates" a tech has... If I know more than him, I dont want him touching my vehicle. I know several people who have gone through the tech training and none really impress me except the ones who had mechanical experience prior to the training.

Finally... your truck should have been detailed after the work was completed.. or before you picked it up... even if the sales man had to wash it himself.

I feel for ya.

oh yeah.. im no body man... but if its a run in the paint.. you cant buff it out... w/o clear coating it afterwards.... just my thoughts.

All tailgates are interchangeable...go out into the lot and point at one you want if they don't get it right this time. And don't forgetto make sure the clear coat the tailgate.

this is a good option that I took... youll probably have to really fight for them to do it though.

Lisak421- I feel for you man. I had a major complaint with the finace man at my dealership. He attempted to run a scam on me (no Sh*t) I made a complaint to their General mananger and the GM corporate office. All I got was " We addressed the problem and we are pressing on." It is obvious they are trained this way and are only out to make cash. Customer satisfaction is not GM's priority!! Do like I am--I am getting a Toyota Tundra next or possibly a Titan. The Tundra's are bulletproof and the Titan's power blows away Gm, Ford , and Dodge. And the dealer can't be any worse!!! d**n, I can't believe I am promoting a jap truck :sigh::chevy:

This definitely sucks that you're heading down the same road you were hoping to avoid and get off of. Customer service and satisfacation skills are a lost art. It's all about the bottom line today with no thought of tomorrow and building relationships. It's like I've started to say with the fine customers/clients/etc at work, no one wants to be wrong. People don't want to own up to their mistakes or be held accountable for their actions. So many folks are just happy to hope to skate by and dance around problems instead of stepping up and doing something about it.

Thanks for the ideas, I can't see them pulling a tailgate off another truck, besides I would want a new one and I'm sure they wouldn't put my "used" tailgate on a new truck.

MightyHD you hit the nail on the head with that one :chevy: I don't like Ford or Dodge trucks :D I guess I'm very passionate about what I drive. The only Ford I like is the Mustang............. :seeya:

Asepgrad98-today is the first day it didn't get into the 90's. I'm not happy they screwed it up.............let's hope they get it right.

Jrw you're right, they just sell ya the vehicle and get ya out the door, don't worry about you coming back as a satisfied customer...just make that sale.

Scry my luck they'll forget or give me some bs, yes I will make sure.

Glock :D You're funny, I myself am not ready for a foreign make truck, I will find something else, Chevy trucks just don't like me.

99silverodz71 You're right about that, society is really changing, it seems things are the who gives a c__p attitude. Nobody cares about you, it's all about themselves and what they want. Things have really changed. Guess that's why I am here, at least the people here are sincere, I really appreciate everyone here.

Tuesday she goes in first thing, I called my salesman and left a voicemail Thursday that I wanted to make sure a loaner was lined up for me. He never returned my call. I called 3 times today, nothing. I will contact the owner again.

I might just post the pic of the truck when I picked it up the other day, you guys will won't believe how the truck looks.

As soon as I get it on my website, I'll post a pick for you, hopefully by tomorrow.

:flag: have a safe and fun 4th of July.
