murphschevy Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Hi, I'm looking for any help trying to diagnose an SES light that came on after I replaced the leaking intake manifold gasket on my 97 K1500 305. According to AutoZone, there are no codes stored and disconnecting the battery for varying amounts of time does not help. I think I replaced all the vacuum hoses etc. The truck runs great, but pings now. This leads me to think I put in the distributor off by one tooth. Does this sound like it makes sense? I don't want to pull the distributor if I dont have to. Is there any way to check if the distributor is off by a tooth? thanks for any help. Murph
