Avalanche for my Silverado?

If you have an Avalanche let me hear from you. I may trade my Silverado Z71 for the Avalanche.

I went yesterday and drove my first Avalanche. It seems like the steering is lighter than in my 2000 Silverado. Interior is basically the same though. Since they are offering 0% APR, I may have to do my part to help out the economy.

First I have to sell my 96 Vette though.

I have had my red 1500 Z71 Avalanche for a couple of months now and love it. I like the great ride and creature comforts. I test drove both a regular 4x4 and one with the Z71 offroad package and did not really notice much of a ride difference. No problems yet. I've had to "switch" several times now to carry some 8 ft. and 10 ft. cargo. Also removed the cargo panels to carry some furniture. I have had no leaks in heavy rain or car wash. But you will see some moisture under the cargo mat. I have the convenience package, Z71 offroad package, front bucket cloth seats, roof rack, running boards, and the appearance package. The mud flaps cut down on the side spray a lot and keep the truck cleaner.

Only complaints are the somewhat bland dash, the fact I have to move both front bucket seats forward a bit to "switch" (I'm 6'4" so I normally keep both seats back pretty far), difficult seeing anything right behind you, and I would like a power lock for the tailgate (may add this as a mod. in the future).

I get lots of looks and compliments.

Looks like you can now easily get a fully loaded 1500 4x4 Avalanche for well under $35k.

having a truck is the best feeling in the world. being able to go places others cant go, never being late to work in the winter, unless you stop to tow some stuck cars on the way! having a vette is also the best in the world. the power, dang... the acceleration, the confidence...face it aint too many cars as fast or faster.  nothing like the cool summer breeze going through your hair as the motor hummms. its the best of both worlds. i miss my '96 vette. everyday i think about her, hopeing the new owner is taking care of her. but, i couldnt imagine life now without my GMC. listen, if you cant financually manage an avalanche without sellling the vette, dont do it. wait until the vette is paid off. trust me, by then GM will of made a truck even better. you already have a '00 silverado! you will regret it, trust me.
