Belted-vs-Radial Off Road tires

I am thinking about getting a new set of Mickey Thompson tires, they say they are belted. Whats the advantage and disadvantages of a belted tire versus a radial. I am somewhat ignorant so please help. Thanks. :notice:

Well, I am not sure I have the answer, but I was also confused when I was shopping for tires. I wanted the Mickey Thompson tires, but then found out most were bias plys. I remember as a kid that when radial tires first came out, they had traction in snow and rain much better than bias ply tires.

And I assume radials ride and wear better. Then I saw M/T had the Baja in radials,... so that is what I got,... and I love 'em.. The tread lugs are really unique,.. there are three different sizes, and they alternate sizes and pattern around the tire,. I am guessing to reduce tire noise by breaking up the frequency?
