Power Steering noise ???

on new 04 burb 5.3 sounds like PS whine when I steer and not moving, is that normal. Not a belt sqeal. not a loud noise but seems more then should for new car. Also any complaints about less then par PS assit.??

I hear a P.S. whine in lots of our trucks, but I wouldn't consider it normal. I'm really amazed more people don't complain about it, but they rarely do.

I've got the same Whinning in my '04 2500HD 6.0. My whines all the time.....very annoying, dealer sez it's normal P/S noise, I'm having a hard time believing this, but until GM comes up with a Bulliten, I gotta live with it. This truck has 15,000 miles on it and feels loose as all heck, I don't abuse it either, I guess this is also normal as per dealer. I absolutely love my truck, but it's getting to me.

I the wine also. I wonder if some of that ps fluid cond. would help. seems wrong for a new truck to need it, but I dont like the noise.
