New stereo install - input please

I just bought some new stereo components, and need some input:

1. I bought two JL Audio TR650s, one CXI, and one CSI. The coax will go in the rear doors, the components in the front. Should I put the woofers/mids in the doors, and the tweeters where the "twiddlers" are in the a-pillars, or should I put them in the area next to the window, in the door?

2. I got some Infinity Kappa 62.5is for the D-pillars. What's the best way to mount? I am thinking about removing the stock twiddlers, and just put them in the same location.

3. What amp should I drive this with, and where do I put it? I installed my subwoofer amp (Kicker 350.2, driving my MB Quart sub) under the second row driver side seat. The second row passenger seat hosts my TVIX for my movies, and MP3s. Can I use the stock amp location, and just ensure that i have enough cooling (fan, whatever?)

4. I am thinking about completely removing the sstock amp, and control the system via my Pioneer DSP DEq. I realize I lose the chimes, and the volume control from the HU by removing it, but the DSP will pick up the volume control function. The chimes, I can delegate through an adapter.

All this class II data makes it so much more complicated to modify...

Input please.

Thanks in advance,

Anders

BTW, stock setup TNR HU, lux amp, bose etc...

I don't post often, but have crossed some of the same issues you have. I used quality stuff, and a TNR also. Using a pac adapter for line outs, , bose amp just powers my new rears now. I have never been totally happy with my sound, specifically, I can't seem to get very good mid and upper bass performance out of these doors. Not real happy with my tweeter imaging or reproduction for that matter. I have the tweets in the doors (components) as well as CDT soundstage tweets up in the front pillars. Doesn't come together very well, I have played with polarity, with little luck.

Just not sure what to do to improve it.

Please post what you learn through trial and error. If your tweets are really bright, the lower door might be the place, or the front pillarsI. (If they are designed for off-axis reproduction)

If they are not harsh, I typically like the upper door front area.

Thanks for the feedback, Given your setup:

How about disconnect the twiddlers all together, no matching issues. Did you put the component tweeters in the door's stock speaker position, next to the mid/woofers? I was contemplating mounting them on the inside opposed to the mirror, which would more effificenlty represent the highs - listening level. There is a small plastic trim piece right there, which would work... Did you keep your rear twiddlers, or is the Bose powering something else?

Thanks,

Anders

I didn't have the lux, hence no rear twiddlers. I have heard that the lux settup is pretty nice sounding though. You may want to keep the twiddlers and rear doors imaged from the lux, power everthing else from a new amp. a thought.

My issue may be that the door comp tweets are overpowering the pillars. I need to get my panels back off to adjust them, I put xo in there.

Just that I heard the best way to image, was in locations that "staged" off the windshield.

That DSP might be something I want to try.
