Squeaking from Bravada

I have a 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada with 40,000km's on it and the whenever I drive the front drivers side wheel makes a horrible squeaking noise and grinding noise. It gets louder as I accelerate. When I apply the brakes the sound does not stop or go away, but stays the same.

 

The sound only comes on whenever the car is movine greate than 20km/h. My dealership said that the noise is normal and is due to oxidation on the rotors and informed me to drive up to 40 and slam the brakes to remove. Did this many times and the noise gets worse lol.

 

Any suggestions? Does this sound like a brake issue?

I would say your pads are getting pretty low on that side, I dont understand why it would only do it above 20km/h though. Easiest thing to do is jack up the that corner and take the wheel off, take a look at the pads for yourself

I have a 97 Bravada. Had a front wheel bearing go out. If grinding noise gets louder when the wheel is cut sharply to the right or left while moving about 20 mph, this could be your problem. The problem wheel will be the one on the outside of the turn, the one with all the weight being put on it. Part will be relativly cheap, about $65, but labor is expensive, about $135.
