Need Tires

Hey

I've got the 04 Silverado shown below and I'm needing some new tires for it and I don't know whats good for the money. I don't want ya regular old street tires like whats on them now when you get in alittle mud you get stuck but just something with alittle more aggressiveness to it. These proably have about 3/32 left on them and its getting time for new ones.

Please let me know and what are the cost of the tires that you recommend.

Does those BFG A/T tires provide still a smooth ride on highway and do good in snow and mud just your all around tire.

I went to BFG site and said that those tires was not available for my truck...

What gives?

How much are those tires each?

Yes the BFG's are smooth on the road. I'm happy with the traction on dry and wet pavement, but can't say anything for snow.

Price depends on size, i'm guessing you have either 265 or maybe 245/75/16????

I had a set of Michelin LTX ATs on my '93, and liked them a lot. Got over 50k out of them and they were very quiet on the highway, excellent on wet pavement, and decent off road.

Toyo Open Country A/Ts.

BFG All-Terrains

Bridgestone Revos

Close your eyes and pick a brand. All three have tons of loyal followers. You really can't go wrong with any of them.

Personally I'm partial to the Toyos.

496: What is the Road noise like for the tires you listed? I know the Revos are fairly quiet on the road, but I know nothing of the BF or Toyos as far as road noise goes.

Can't remember exactly... Around $150 per tire. I got them at Costco while they were running a special. I think it was $80 off a set of 4... They seem to run this same special about twice a year...

The Toyos are very quiet on the highway,my wife has them on her Blazer and you really don't hear any road noise from the tires. They have excellent wet/snow traction and do a pretty darn good job off-road. I have an aggresive off road tire on my HD and my friend has the Toyos on his 1500. He can go almost anywhere I can go when we're out playing. The Toyos also have a 50K mile warranty. My wifes tires have about 40K on them and if they don't go at least 75K I'll be shocked.

I've had a few sets of the BFGs and they are a great tire, but will be noisier than the Toyos or Revos. I had the BFGs on a couple 1500s and they always went over 50K. I had them on my 2500HD and they only lasted about 25K miles. The only reason I can think of is the extra weight of the HD doesn't agree with the BFGs.
