Do the LS Suburbans that do NOT have steering wheel controls have pre-wiring for the volume control/Cruise/Message Center in the steering wheel? I want to do the Group purchase but the link is not working so I can't ask questions directly. Need help

No, you have to change out the airbag coil to one that has the wires for the controls.

Thanks for the info If I were to do as you mentioned above is it a labor intensive job?

Not really. You have to pull the steering wheel off and then the coil is held by a snap ring. You have to run the wires down the column harness and such. Not sure about wiring in the newer ones, but on the 02-down it was just 4 wires.

if your planning on putting steering wheel controls on your 04 truck then more than likely there is more to it then just replacing the wheel and coil kit. I say "more than likely" because some trucks have the instrument cluster already programed for the full dic even though they don't have the steering wheel control option, but most trucks are not programmed with the full dic only limited dic (milage, hr's, and trip). You would have to upgrade your whole guage cluster with on SS or escalade, or one that already had the steering wheel controls or get your dealer to get the codes to reprogram the cluster. Then you would have to get your dealer to get another code to reprogram your radio (it's another name for it but I can't think of it right now, data bus or something) to be able to control your radio from your steering wheel controls. You can look on the radio and sound forum and there is a topic that would explain this more clearly.
