Electric fans

Has anyone pulled out the stock clutch fan and put in a dual puller electric set up?

I was thinking of doing it to my new AV along with my 72 Monte.  Could I get some numbers to go with it?

Don't know why they don't put them on at the factory, it would free up some more horse power

Which one of these products involves removal of the fan shroud? I might go this route before doing the poweraid spacer cause it requires cutting the fan shroud. This way I won't have cut any O.E part.

They both would require removing the fan shroud.  I'm thinking about going that route also.  Maybe next year when I get some money for it.  It should free up a lot of space in the engine compartment as well.

What do you do for the serpentine belt once the clutch fan is removed?

I think that you just pull off the fan and clutch - everything else stays. That is not as easy as it sounds - might want to rent a tool from your local auto store - or find a shop that will do it.

I have two additional questions:

1. They don't reccommend for heavy towing - why?

2. There have been some board posts on your gauges going nuts with the Flex-a-Lite - any experience?

Thanks
