Hurst Competition/Plus Truck Shifters

I just ordered a Hurst Competition/Plus Truck Shifters from Jeg. My truck is a 93 GMC 350 with the 5 speed. (4 speed with od) Anyway. when I called Jeg's they told me I'd need the

 

530-391-0120, which says it for the "GM C/K-Series 1/2 & 3/4-Ton Trucks 1988-92 V6/V8 with New Venture MG-5 3500 Transmission"

 

the other part number is 530-391-0121 which says it fits the GM C/K-Series 1/2 & 3/4-Ton Trucks 1993-97 V6/V8 with New Venture MG-5 3500 Transmission.

 

They assured me this was the right one. SO I emailed Mr. Gasket ( they are the mother company now) and they sent me back the following answer

I just ordered a shifter through Jeg's. I noticed that some on line cataglogs have the model I need as PN 391 0120, others have PN 391 0121, Jegs says the catalog they are using says it's the 391 0121. I'm hopeing I didn't order the wrong shifter. What would the difference be?

Solution:

This can be confusing as GM had a running change from 93-94. Most of the trucks used a 391 0120 and some used the 391 0121. The difference being only the length which the ball and socket protrudes out of the shifter. The 391 0120 is the shorter ball and socket while the 391 0121 is the longer version. There is no way to tell until the shifter has been removed. See if the lengths match when you get your new shifter. Thank you

Received shifter this morning.

Nice quality as all Hurst products I've bought in the past.

Installed in 30 to 45 minutes.

Love the shorts throw and positive shift points.

Of course the chrome looks nice too.

Cost 180 (appprox) shipping included from Jegs.

Received it in 3 days.
