Radio Upgrade Part #'s

Sorry if this is old topic, please point me to old posts if already beaten to death.

How do I know which 6 CD OEM Stereo fits my truck? 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE with current part 10359576 AM/FM/CD (no RDS, no XM).

When I ask my dealer about specific part numbers, they say that they don't know. When I ask about reprogramming if I install one, they say they don't know. AND I BELIEVE THAT THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE!

I found a few options: 15196055, 10357886, 10359577. Google pointed me to radiosandmore.com. They say I need to ask if truck can be upgraded to UC6 radio. Once again, dealer did not know.

Who does know and does Delco change part numbers every day? Gosh.

OK, new question. RDS - Radio Data System (I think). My OEM radio is not RDS, can I replace it with a RDS unit? Will the RDS work with the wiring I have?

For example, I know Bose Head Units must go with Bose equipped ehicles due to external amp that is not present in the standard wiring. Is the same true for RDS?

Any information is greatly appreciated.
