OBD 11 Code

2000 Tahoe 5.3ltr

I found some codes on the net that listed P1125 as intermittant throttle position

sensor, this engine does have drive by wire, so you are saying that the problem

may be the sensor attached to the accelerator pedal reather than the tps sensor

Also it did go to "reduced power" and was really bogged down.

It has also been having a cold idle problem lately .

I cannot find a proper manual for it , the haynes does not show drive by wire

in their 99-02 manual and 03 and up is not available yet.

Is there a prescribed way to test the "APP" unit?

OBD11 is the Roman way to pronounce it .

Thanks , Black Bart

What year & model?

The APP sensor module is actually 3 sensor units combined.  If any one of them goes, it flashes the code.  If 2 go, it "REDUCED ENGINE POWER".

Clear the code.  If it comes back, check for corrosion, poor connections, or damaged wires at the gas pedal assembly.  If all seems OK you'll likely need to replace the module.

Where would this module be located?

The (APP) module which includes the gas pedal has been orderd from the

dealer (not in stock) , cost about $100 , after about a week after installation

I will post back the results.

Original Problem; Low idle when cold and engine would sometimes die,

stumble upon acceleration sometimes when cold.

Then the other day while driving the engine got

sluggish and then went to(Reduced Power)

We checked the codes with the laptop and found

a code P1125 APP problem.

Thanks for all responses,
