Brake differences, 1500 Avalanche vs. Caddy EXT?

Does anyone know whether the braking systems on the 1500 Avalanche and the Cadillac Escalade EXT are identical?

 

The reason I ask is that the original Car & Driver review of a 1500 Avalanche Z71 described the brakes as having quite a bit of fade (moderate) in the data panel, while this month's issue of C&D on the Caddy describes the brakes as having only light fade.

 

The rotor dimensions appear to be the same, as do pics of the calipers.  Should this be chalked up to sample variation?  (I shudder to think of what the typical press-pool Avalanche would get abused with).

PS., the Caddy article was written by John Phillips in one of his more, uh, expansive moods.  He doesn't see the point of a Caddy pickup (which I can understand), and the writing in the article is pretty funny.  There's also a nice editorial in the beginning of the mag about what Lutz should do to fix Chevy (which is aimed at their cars - the editorial twice says that Chevy's lineup of trucks is "solid".)
