Installing a CD player

Ok, so there WAS a Kenwood tape player in my truck but i took that out and this is the wire/plug that was plugged into the back of it:

 

 

Now the CD player comes with this one:

 

 

Obviously the old one won't fit into the new one so i need to know whether i can just put the wires into the old one or do i have to cut the old one out and splice the new ones to the old ones.

 

Also, there seems to be the same amount of wires and the same colors so it seems to all match up.

According to Crutchfield it looks like they're 4x6 all around

So, does anyone know exactly how many, where, and what size all the speakers are? I'm pretty sure your right about the 4x6 but i just wanna double check.
