? on brakes

Hope someone can help on this.

Going to replace the brakes on my 99 Sierra ext cab truck. And noticed a problem(or at least i think it is) On both sides of the front the brake pads are the same. Drivers side both are on the same way, as in both of the metal stops(that hit the rotor when low) are on the bottom . On the pass side both are at the top.

All brakes i've ever changed these were different on each side of the rotor for each side. is this normal on these trucks? You get 4 brake pads in a new box, 2 sets. usually 1 of each set goes on one wheel not on the same wheel

I hope i'm not confusing anyone on this.

If this is incorrect, anyone have a pic of how these pads should go on, thinking just need the outside and then can replace them by that.

Thanks, again sorry if this is confusing.

Sounds like it is correct, instead of poducin to knids of pad 1 inside and 1 outside, they produce one kind for both, saves money, which probably isn't passed on to the consumer... I don't know for sure but I think it is ok, they mount the same regardless of where the stop is.

I noticed the same thing when I did my brakes...the new pads come 2 of each kind. Use one of each on each side...I don't think it matters if you put the tab on the inner or outer side.
