A/C and power windows

A couple of questions, if I may...

 

2000 GMC 1500 5.3 4x4

 

1. Occassionaly, my A/C will blow HOT air, regardless of recirculate or fresh air setting, A/C switch on or off. I have to pull the fuses and let it sit, then it will usually come back correctly. This is for manual controls, not digital.

 

2. My drivers side power window is considerably slower to raise than the passenger side. Is this indicative of a major problem with the mechanism?

2. Have you tried lubricating the tracks that your driver's side window glides in? Get some spray white-grease (comes in a can with a tube like wd-40 does) and lube the rubber that the window glides in.

 

1. No idea what to do about the A/C.

Dual temp controls on the A/C or single? If dual, is it both sides or just one that goes hot?

 

As for the window... possibly the motor or binding somewhere. What do you call considerably slower? If you have both windows all the way down and press UP on both at the same time, what's the time difference? In other words, how many seconds after the passenger side is closed does the driver's side finally reach the closed position?

2. IMHO.....Motor brushes?? In the old days you could have them (brushes) turned over/around by an auto glass shop. If and When you finally replace the motor it will go fast again. Or dirty contacts.
