had my avalanche for almost 2 months now, is this normal?

the heat/air is always blowing in my face! no matter where i set the controls it still blows in my face. my feet can be freezing no heat down there, just always in my face. even with the blower in the off position, it is still always there.

(I CANT STAND IT ANYMORE!!!). DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM?

I'd say yours is broke. I do not have that problem. If I choose the floor setting, I do not get any air out the vents.

There is a TSB for this problem, but I the link I found before is broken.  My complaint (minor) is that on the heat/defrost side I have to keep the temp turned almost all the way down.  If I move the diverter to the vent/heat side, I have to turn the temp halfway up.  Never had this difference in past vehicles.

If you're getting blasted in the face no matter what the vent control (middle dial) is set to then sounds like something definitely wrong.  If it's just when the upper/lower vents are selected (left side of the dial) it may be "normal", in the GM sense of the word.

 

Driving at freeway speeds even with the fan off I get a blast of air coming through the vents that gets uncomfortable at times.  Pressing recirc, right button below the fan selector, reduces the airflow.

 

To increase airflow I vent the sunroof.  Or drive faster.
