Which brand/style/model mud flaps would you guys recommend?  I have a 2000 1/2 ton Silverado Z71 w/factory flares?  Looking for function more so than looks.  Thanks in advance.

Although my truck is a HD with flares, it would still be the same as your truck.  I have the "Husky" brand molded flaps.  So far I'm very happy with them.  I think they were about $55 delivered to my house...

I have Powerflow Ultimate Spashguards on mine.  They were made for the factory flares, but I modified them to work with my Bushwacker Street Flares.  Just took some minor trimming.  The molded part is a rubber type material and the flap itself are a hard plastic.  The two pieces are held together by some of those plastic plugs, like found on older car door panels, and washers.  Drilling is required to install them.  I installed them last spring/summer and the rubber molded part had faded pretty quickly, in my opinion.  I recently took them off and prepped the molded part and painted them.  They now look like new again.

BTW, I ordered them from the Sears Automotive catalog.  I think they were $35-40 a set.

i second husky. they are made from a hard plastic and were easy to install. i have had softer ones before but they seem to break after time. i know huskys are expensive but i think they are worth the penny!

Anyone know of any flare part #'s for a 99z71 without factory flares?  I was hoping to go with a no-drill install if there is such a thing.  The parts guy at a dealer I stopped at said they do have flaps that are just held on by the plastic push-in screws.
