Heated Seats

I just bought a 2006 Sierra 2500 HD Crewcab Duramax.

An upgrade from my 2001 8.1L.

 

The heated seats on the 2006 will turn themselves off after just a couple of minutes. When I turn them back on, they stay on until I turn them off.

 

Is this normal, or should I take it into the dealer.

 

Every other vehicle I have had with heated seats just stayed on when I turned them on.

No, they should not turn off shortly after turning them on. I'm not sure why they would stay on the second time but not the first.
