How do you change the tail light in a 2003 Silverado? Point me in the right direction, I couldn't find anything in the How To section.......... And it keeps going out too. This will be the fifth time to replace this light....

I have a 2000, but I imagine its the same.

 

Drop the tailgate. Where the tailgate interesected the taillight there are 2 or 3 phillips screws. Remove them, and the light assembly drops out.

 

On the back of the assembly are the bulb sockets - depress the retainer and rotate the socket counter-clockwise out of the light assembly.

 

Replace the bulb, reverse the procedure to reinstall.

 

 

I'm typing this from memory, btw. Hoping its accurate.

Chris hit it dead on from what I remember when I had to swap a bulb in my 99. The screws are hidden by your tailgate until you drop it. Then once they're removed you have access to all the bulbs you might need to get to. Easy work.
