Follow up to post last week

Ok- took a ride with the dealer on Monday. He confirmed that yes it is the slip yoke. Service mgr said that the parts are not available anymore, GM is working on a permanent fix :sleeping:. They said to keep calling to check when the part becomes available.

Has anybody else, "on the left coast" had there slip yoke replaced? I have called numerous GM dealers in my area and asked for the part #, but to no avail.

they tried to sell me on that one too but I tried the blue auto trac fluid first , noise clunk is gone, took 97 miles to stop and gm said it would take 100 miles. also this solved a friends clunk , chip too .

The fluid was the first thing they changed on mine and it didnt fix it.

Im surprised tho. I was about to call my dealer to arrange for the new yoke, but it looks like now theres another fix on the way.

Did they tell you when the permanent fix would be avail?

i need the fix too, the noise is making me crazy.

:ehh: I saw another post yesterday from another member concerning the yoke, he got his replaced. I called GM, again. They told me that the original part number, for a 3/4 ton, 12477704 is no longer available, but there is a new part available, 12472411. I'm going out to the dealer today, Ill let everbody know what happens.
