wheel off-set

Could you tell me a little about wheel off-set ? on my 2003 GMC 2500HD 4X4 how much off-set or any at all is there on the factory aluminum wheels? also a set of after market wheels that are 16x7 would they be about the same as mine ? i see on the US wheel web site they have a set that are "0" off- set , and how much is "OK" i don't want the wheels to stick out any so would like to be about the same as the stock wheel . Thanks for any help !

I should also ask about the "back spacing " what is my factory wheels ? and how much is ok ? thanks again !

This is kind of the wrong forum for those kind of questions as it leads up to a mod question and like the sticky says, he doesn't know a whole lot about mods.

 

I'd just do a search yourself on google for something like 2003 2500 HD wheel offset.

 

If you find the same size wheel with the same offset and backspacing, a new one should be a match. If I can remember right, if it has some negative offset it will push the rim out of the wheel well, and if it has positive it will be further in. Generally you want negative offset for wider tires and positive for narrower.

Sorry , i wasn't trying to make any "mods" i was just trying to get a honest answer on the specs for a factory wheel and what to look for to match up as i am looking for another set to use just for winter , i have had so many people tell me to many things to know what will and will not fit . again i am sorry.
