Major Drivetrain Upgrades on '95 Tahoe

Recommended Posts

Boys & girls,

I recently acquired a very nice '95 Tahoe, 2door, 4x4, 5.7L, loaded. I'm thinking about a major drivetrain upgrade..........just for the hell of it. The truck currently has about 170,000, still runs good and looks new.

Here are my thoughts and I'd like your advice, especially if you have done a similar swap.

Option 1: Install 502 Ramjet, new trans, new axles and transfer case, upgrade front springs, etc, etc.

Option 2: Install ZZ4, carburated and rest of drivetrain just like above.

Option 3: Install ZZ4, EFI and rest of drivetrain just like above.

Let me know what you think. The Tahoe is a week-end driver, used for recreational purpose. I'll also install a 3" body lift (no suspension lift), 305/75 x 16 tires, bull bar with lights, roof rack with lights, step bars, etc, etc......you get the idea!

Thanks,

Steve
