Navigation for 99 Silverado

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone knew if the navigation out of a Escalade would work in my 99 silverado. I know the dash would have to be modified and the AC controls would have to be moved.

But, is there anyway I could move the AC controls to the top of the windshield in that empty space and use an escalade dash to fit the navigation?

Also, if that doen't work, what do you guys think the best option is for a navigation system? If I do buy aftermarket I kinda want a removable one so that I can take it on trips with my motorcycle where it would be awesome to have navigation.

Thanks, Christian

It depends on what year Escalade too. If the Escalade is 03 or newer you are going to be out of luck, if it is a 99-2002 you might have a shot (a pretty good one at that). From the few portable gps devices I have played around with the Tom Tom 700 is one of the better ones. The garmins have not been too good for me. They get me to where I want to go, but they take me the long way to get there. Good luck :shakehead:
