Radio reception weak?

I have noticed that my radio is not near as powerful as far as reception goes. My ford would pull in much more with no static. Does anybody have a problem like this.  If you press the scan it will sometimes go the whole way through the all the band and only pick up like 2-3 stations. thanks in advance.

Hmmm, can't say as I've had any problems w/ a lack of reception.  Mine's been more powerful these past few days and picking up a few stations that I don't normally get.  You may want to check the antenna wire and make sure it's all the way in the radio.

I too would say the reception of the stock units bite.  I hate to say it however my previous Toyota Tundra stock radio would pull in stations twice as good as the GM unit.  I'm talking about a very noticable difference.  The 5/6 stations I listen to routinely were very clear in the Tundra ... where I can hear static on most of them in the Chevy.

Just this morning on my way into work I was noticing how much my radio sucked. I live in a town where the two radio station I listen to the most are only a few miles from where I drive and I still get static. My Jeep Wrangler was much better in the radio dept. then this Chevy. any way to fix this without getting a new radio?

My last car was a 99 Grand Am, Now I have my 2002 Sierra. And I must say the radio comes in MUCH better then the Grand Am could have ever wanted to.  I go to college 100 miles away from home, and at home we have TONS of radio stations, but in wellsville we have maybe 2 and those are country (ICK)  I noticed with my new trucks I got about 20miles further and still had the radio comming in.

My dealer told me all Country stations have static and it was completely normal. :D:)  Just kidding, I actually listen to quite a bit of country ... static and all.

The stock GM radio/CD player is the worst sounding thing I've ever had in a vehicle, PERIOD.  The best thing I ever did was yank it out of there...

OK Yeah - mine sucks too.  Now who's got an idea on how to fix it.  Is it just a matter of replacing the head unit or is the antenna just crappy?
