Differential Service

Dear Expert,

I have a 2003 Yukon Z71 with 48,000miles. I just bought it and don't know how it was used - but is in very nice condition. The owner's manual states that the Transfer Case must be changed every 50,000miles but it makes no mention of changing the front or rear differentials. About 10% of my miles will be for boat towing. All my other miles are city traffic.

Do you recommend these lubes be changed? If so, when?

Thanks, Brian

With the synthetic fluids used in the differentials, they don't need regular service. If you're uncomfortable with this, don't lose sleep over it... change it out.
