Brake fluid on belt

About a month ago I replaced the master cylinder in my 97 k1500. When i got to it, there was brake fluid everywhere, (now the brake booster looks like hell). Anyway, to make a long story short, either all the brake fluid I lost when the master cylinder went bad or when I replaced the master cylinder, somehow I got a little brake fluid on the belt and it chirps and squeals for a few minutes after start up. Is there any way to clean it off? I had hoped it woulda burnt off by now, but brake fluid is some pretty nasty stuff. Thanks

How about a can of brake parts cleaner?

Brake parts cleaner would not be good for the belt. The can I have says not get get it on plastic or rubber. You could try taking the belt off and washing it really good in some regular dishwashing soap like Dawn, or go and get a new belt. I just got one yesterday, 14.99 or 39.99. My cheap a$$ went with the 14.99. I was getting some noise on damp days or after it rained on cold start ups, I just put the old belt in my toolbox just in case!!!!!

I know that brake cleaner will terroize rubber, I have seen it happen. Someone in another forum reccomended non-chlorinated brake cleaner, would that be safe? A its got the expensive belt on it, only a year old, so id like to salvage it if possible. What do you think?
