2002 Tahoe Wiper Problem

CYOKOM

I have an 02 Tahoe and the other day my wipers stoped working except if they are on full bore. I was hoping that maybe, I just blew a fuse, but I only found one fuse related to the front wiper which was good. Any help would be great.

Thnks so much.

It's either the wiper switch of the wiper module (board). Take your pick. If you want to do some extensive diagnosis, I can give you the steps.

Thanks for the fast reply. Any advice to diagnosis the problem more would be great.

I was thinking if the wiper switch isn't very expensive than maybe I would just go that route and see if it fixes the problem. Your thoughts?

Thanks again.

This is going to be difficult to follow. Start with step 2. After each step you'll see a reference to go to one of two steps. If the answer to the test is yes, you go the first number mentioned. If the answer is no, go to the second number mentioned.

Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

8. This step tests for continuity through the 24K ohms resistor in the windshield wiper/washer switch. The connector behind the instrument panel knee bolster is suitable for performing this step.

9. This step tests for continuity through the delay resistors in the windshield wiper/washer switch. The measured resistance will change in sequence from high to low as the delay speed is increased. The connector behind the instrument panel knee bolster is suitable for performing this step.
