coolant in oil

I noticed that the antifreeze level kept dropping in the overflow tank, so I sent in an oil sample and unfortunatley its leaking into the oil.

my first thought was head gasket, but this morning someone mentioned that it could be the intake manifold gasket.

upon searching the site, I found a post that stated the intake manifold on the 5.3's was a dry intake and that no coolant is present there. is this true?

what do you guys think about using block sealer? i have heard that for a slow leak like I have it could seal it up for a fairly long time.

thanks for any help!

Well if it was my truck i would have it parked and not drive it an inch more till you know for sure that the leak is fixed and no coolant is present in your oil!It does not take very long for that coolant to destroy ever bearing inside the engine, and if it was me unless you will be dumping the truck soon i would avoid any easy temp fix stuff and get the job fixed and done right.

Having just replaced my intake manifold gasket yesterday, I can confirm that it is dry. Your problem may lie with the head gasket. Good luck.
