Slow Tach

On my 01 HD with the 6.0 gas I have noticed that when it is really cold out, like it has been sittin over night, that the tach needle will be really slow to move. Anyone else have the problem or any idea how to fix it? Once the truck warms up it works great, just when its really cold.

The first high performance engine I built worked great, my Trans Am would outrun everyone in town. Then one morning I dropped a valve and blew it to bits by red lineing it in the gears getting it warmed up. Now I wouldn't know that my tach is slow until it's warmed up because I would test it's speed until it is.

 

Do you get my point? Until my engine is warm my tach doesn't get much exercise. I recommend you do the same.
