'05-'06 General Motors vehicles

During extreme maneuvers--such as turning the steering wheel fully to the left or right while braking--power-steering hose may fracture and leak fluid. If it does, steering and stopping could become more difficult, and fire could occur if the fluid were to spray onto hot engine parts. On vehicles equipped with "Hydro-Boost" power brakes, it could also result in loss of brake assist, requiring increased braking effort.

Vehicles: 123,592 vehicles including the following: '06 Buick Rainier, Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Express, Tahoe, Trailblazer, Trailblazer EXT, GMC Envoy, Envoy XL, Savana, Yukon, Hummer H2, and Isuzu Ascender; '05-06 Chevrolet Corvette and Silverado and GMC Sierra.

What to do: Have dealer inspect power-steering hoses and replace them, if necessary. For information, Chevrolet owners should call 800-630-2438; GMC, 866-996-9463; Buick, 866-608-8080; Cadillac, 866-982-2339; Isuzu, 800-255-6727; and Hummer, 800-732-5493.
