So i know i can reset the oil life as i have done it but do i have a way to view how much life is left or stuff. I don't have the DIC onh my steering wheel none of the fancy options. Or is this thign not really even working for my truck

If you don't have the buttons, then you don't have the "percentage oil life remaining" option. You can add it, but the project is a major project---not for the faint of heart. Involves replacing or flashing your instrument cluster, and adding four switches.

Yes, you just won't know the percentage remaining beforehand.
