6.0L oil usage

My '04 with 29K started using oil. I checked the other day and it was down 1qt with 2200 miles from the last change. I did a search and found about changing the PCV valve to a fixed orifice might help but I wasn't sure if the fixed orifice came standard on the 04. Any sugestions?

My '04 HD uses some Oil and it came with a fixed orifice. I am at 36k miles and have 10w-30 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic snice the first oil change. I am considering a swap to 5w-30 Full Synthetic inhopes to lower my valve noise when cold, but I hope I don't drink more oil.

My 6.0 uses about 1/2 quart in 7500 miles, using M-1 5W-30.

I use dino Pennzoil 10w-30, maybe I'll try the 5w -30 and see if that helps.
